1. About Us

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Hines Electrical & Security (N.Z.) Limited website at hines.co.nz and any services provided by us. By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to these terms.

Hines Electrical & Security (N.Z.) Limited is a registered New Zealand company providing electrical, security and heat pump services across Auckland.

2. Services

We provide residential and commercial electrical installation, repair and maintenance services, security system installation, and heat pump installation and servicing across the Auckland region. All work is carried out by licensed electricians registered with the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB).

3. Quotes and Pricing

All quotes provided are estimates based on information supplied at the time. Final pricing may vary if the scope of work changes following a site assessment. We will advise you of any changes before proceeding. All prices are in New Zealand Dollars and are inclusive of GST unless otherwise stated.

4. On-Time Guarantee

If we arrive late to a booked appointment without prior notice, we will not charge for the first hour of labour. This guarantee applies to standard appointments and does not apply to emergency callouts where response time cannot be guaranteed.

5. Workmanship Guarantee

We provide a $20,000 workmanship guarantee on all installation and repair work. If any fault arises directly due to our workmanship, we will repair it at no cost to you. This guarantee does not cover faults caused by misuse, third-party interference, or normal wear and tear.

6. Payment

Payment is due on completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept payment by bank transfer, credit card and cash. Overdue accounts may incur late payment fees.

7. Cancellations

We ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a call-out fee.

8. Warranties

All product warranties are subject to the manufacturer’s terms and conditions. Mitsubishi Electric heat pumps installed by our authorised team carry a 5-year manufacturer warranty. Paradox alarm systems carry their standard manufacturer warranty. Warranty claims must be submitted to us in the first instance.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by New Zealand law, Hines Electrical & Security (N.Z.) Limited’s liability is limited to the value of the services provided. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential or incidental loss arising from our services or any failure of equipment or systems.

10. Health & Safety

All work is carried out in compliance with New Zealand health and safety legislation. Customers must ensure safe access to work areas and disclose any known hazards prior to work commencing.

11. Dispute Resolution

If you have a concern about any work we have carried out, please contact us in the first instance at service@hines.co.nz or 0800 444 637. We are committed to resolving disputes promptly and fairly. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes may be referred to the Disputes Tribunal of New Zealand.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
